Kabul Korrespondence

Fresh, factual, and funky view of Afghanistan and the surrounding Central Asian region

Much Appreciated

Friday, October 31, 2008

I recieved many emails of condolences this week. All of them from the goodness of peoples hearts. I want to thank you to you all, I appreciated your thoughts and concerns. I wish I could grant you your wishes that I will leave Afghanistan and come home, but this will not be the case. We can let the actions of a few intimidate the work we have come here to do. Jason's death will not pass in vain.

(Excuse my spelling Jeremy, there is no spell check in Tajikistan)

Much as I fear and dread to hear that you too might have been caught up in the daily violence in Afghanistan, I have to agree with you. What you are doing there is so important, and it's crucial that there are some people in the world brave enough to do it.

I add my condolences to the rest. I was very sad to hear about Jason's death. He will no doubt be sorely missed.
