Fresh, factual, and funky view of Afghanistan and the surrounding Central Asian region

Summer time in Kabul

Friday, May 18, 2007

Hello All

I know it’s been a long time between posts. After the success of the exhibition on the 30th of March, I have been super busy here in Melbourne organising stage 2 of the Afghan Aina project.

I am proud to announce that I again have secured sponsorship from Crumpler, Canon, Kayell and Lexar for more equipment for the school. And I’m also happy to announce that the Lonely Planet Foundation has made a very generous donation to our project.

So with all this great news under my hat, Im back in Kabul to continue working for the next 4 months. Not only will I continue teaching the Afghans photojournalism, but also I will facilitate the new volunteer teachers flying in from Holland, England and the U.S.

Stage 2 will be bigger, better and more grandiose than what we did previously. So stay tunned for more weekly posts, send in feedback and forward the blog onto anyone you think might enjoy a piece of weekly Afghanistan.

Cheers

Travis
Head of the Photo Dept at the Aina Media Centre

And NO its not me in the photo, its one of my students!
